Technical Due Diligence, Technoeconomic Feasibility, Renewable Energy Strategy

Project Overview
Technical Due Diligence, Technoeconomic Feasibility, Renewable Energy Strategy
Objective
Vattenfall engaged Cleantech & Energy to undertake deep specialist review of a project under early development. Once reviewed, Cleantech & Energy were then tasked with progressing the 100% fossil-free generation design to deliver a comprehensive technoeconomic analysis within a tight 12-week window.
Key Contributions
Technical Due Diligence
Cleantech conducted a detailed technical due diligence of the existing system designs to uncover risks, identify areas for improvement and ensure readiness for integration with new clean technologies.
Technical Solution Development
Cleantech designed an electrified, scalable heat generation system including:
4.5 MW water source heat pumps
4 MW air source heat pumps
3 MW electric boilers
This combination ensured operational flexibility and futureproofing for sustainability and grid interaction.
Technoeconomic Evaluation
We developed a robust technoeconomic analysis to assess the solution’s economic performance under several demand, energy price, and policy scenarios – supporting the quantitative case for decision making.
Strategic Insights
Comprehensive reporting set out the technical solution with broader strategic business goals, enabling informed decision-making and long-term planning toward green expansion.
Impact
Cleantech & Energy’s agile delivery identified critical areas for focus to support Vattenfall’s development team, knowing the project met their fossil-free ambitions and had a clear, investable pathway forward for the project.
